When will the market be held?

Cheviot Market intends to operate from May through November. Most months, Cheviot Market will be held on the third Saturday of the month. On a few occasions, the market date will be held on the second or the fourth Saturday of the month so that it may not conflict with any pre-established, local events. Please check our Market Info for the most up to date itinerary.

What are market hours?

Cheviot Market intends to operate from 10am to 3pm. Please check our Market Info for official times.

Who can attend?

Cheviot Market is for everyone! All ages, races and social demographics are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Since the market is outdoors within the Municipal Parking Lot, it is handicap accessible and also open to pets. We ask that if you intend to bring a pet, please have it properly leashed and do not bring any animal that has an aggressive nature. Failure to comply with these two requests will unfortunately be cause for removal from the market.

What kind of vendors will be in attendance?

Cheviot Market will have a wide range of vendors. Be sure to check our Vendor List for the most up to date listing and info about confirmed vendors.

Will food be available?

Cheviot Market will have food trucks (trailers) available on Harrison Avenue, north of the the Municipal Parking Lot. NYPD Pizza will also be available starting at 11:00am (one hour after the market begins).

Will alcohol be available?

Cheviot Market intends to coordinate with adjacent bars to serve alcoholic beverages. The Cheviot Municipal Parking Lot is in the heart of the Cheviot DORA District so all alcoholic beverages will be required to be served in a DORA approved container. If any vendor or patron is caught drinking or serving their own alcohol they will not be able to continue participating at Cheviot Market. Is there a market map?

A general map will be located with our Market Info. A vendor map will be shared closer to market day.

Will there be restrooms?

Cheviot Market intends to coordinate with adjacent business for use of their restrooms. A map showing which businesses have accessible restrooms will be located on the Market Info page.

Where can I park?

Cheviot Market patrons can park in any legal space on the street. We've coordinated with the City of Cheviot so that meters will not be enforced during market hours and immediate hours surrounding the market. Some lot parking may be available so please check the Market Info page to see if any will be available. We ask that when parking, please obey all general traffic laws and please do not block any neighborhood driveways.

What should I avoid bringing?

Cheviot Market asks that no weapons, motorized vehicles, loud speakers, aggressive pets, or alcohol or drugs be brought into the market. Any vendors or patrons that disregard this request will be not be able to participate in the market.

What kind of security will be on hand?

Cheviot Market will coordinate with the City of Cheviot to address any safety concerns. The current protocol is to have multiple Cheviot Market staff on-site, one Cheviot Police Officer on-site and two Cheviot Police Officers on patrol, nearby. If there are any safety developments, Cheviot Market will announce as soon as possible. If there are any safety concerns during market day, please contact a Cheviot Market staff member, immediately.

Can patrons be removed?

Cheviot Market reserves the right to remove any patrons (or vendors) if they have broken state or federal laws or have behaved in a manner not suitable to the mission and purpose of Cheviot Market. If removed, the offending person will not be allowed to participate in any future markets.

Can the market be cancelled?

Cheviot Market cancellations will be announced within at least 12 hours of the market’s projected start time. Markets will only cancel due to unforeseen circumstances not within Cheviot Market control, e.g. weather, natural disaster, construction, etc.

What is market liability?

Cheviot Market is not responsible for any harm or damages experienced by patrons or vendors. Liability will be held with specific businesses and organizations in accordance with general laws and practices. All vendors are required to provide their own insurance for their own products/services. Patrons and vendors are responsible for any harm or damages they incur while attending the market.
